Discover the extraordinary atmosphere of chor.com at the Forum
The chor.com 2024 forum with its exhibitor fair at the Hannover Congress Centrum (HCC) offered an attractive program for all those interested in vocal music. Here, even those who were not taking part in the workshops and concerts as professional participants could experience the special atmosphere of chor.com – admission was free!
In the forum, universities and music schools, academies, professional associations, festival and concert organizers, cultural media, sheet music and music publishers, CD labels, music dealers, producers of sheet music software and technical accessories, artists' agencies and organizers of choir tours presented their ideas, new developments and products to the professional audience and all visitors interested in choral music.
At the same time, there was space for choir conductors and managers, publishers, composers, professors, artists, lecturers, experts and the public to meet and exchange ideas.
The opening ceremony of the chor.com took place on Thursday, September 26 at the Forum. Christian Wulff, President of the German Choral Association, together with Stephan Doormann, Artistic Director of chor.com, and representatives from the city of Hannover and the federal state of Niedersachsen welcomed all participants, exhibitors and trade visitors. The young male chamber choir ffortissibros provided the musical prelude to four days of chor.com.
The program also included cultural-political talks in which artists, cultural professionals and experts in their field shed light on the latest topics in the choral scene.
Visitors of the Forum could also participate in the interactive installation "Song Along". It provided an invitation to share songs that have touched people in their lives. Shared on colorful cards, the songs created a visual sound collage that echoes a wealth of memories and personal stories. The installation was created by Studio komplementaer from Cologne for Vision Kirchenmusik and offered an opportunity to pause, talk and reflect on courage, hope, crises and much more. From Friday to Sunday, chor.com also started with open singing, which is based on the "Song Along" installation.
