Pust, the Norwegian word for breath, is a source of vocal pleasure hailing from Oslo. Pust’s compositions reverberate attentively between Scandinavian folk music, jazzy tones, and all sorts of worldly and natural sounds. At times fragile, at others expressive, Pust are a listening experience, and nothing short of an aural exploration of the soul and the landscape of the European North.
In this workshop, two members of Pust invite the participants to join this “Nordic Sound”, teaching two of their songs that represent two different manifestations of the essence of Pust’s repertoire based on Norwegian folk music. The songs are suitable for bigger ensembles as well as smaller ones. The workshop will give participants a first-hand impression of how Pust express their musical identity in an innovative way. Pust’s performance “A Breath from the North” can also be experienced in the chor.com concert programme.
