Teil 1 von 2
In this first part of two sessions on Latinamerican choral repertoire, renowned conductor Maria Guinand will explore questions on how to approach this field. She will cover different topics such as choral songs and Madrigals, including the use of Spanish language, correct musical and prosodic phrasing (with examples from “Al mar anochecido” by Gonzalo Castellanos) and contemporary music based on elements from (a) dance and rhythmic traditions, e.g. “El Guayaboso” by López Gavilán, rituals and syncretic elements such as “Jubiabá” by Carlos Alberto Pinto Fonseca and sections from Osvaldo Golijov’s “La Pasión según San Marcos”, as well as new languages (with examples from “O vos omnes” from the Lamentations).
The second, separate session is a reading session covering two Makumbebe Collections.
