UK-based beatboxer Dem-C (LowKey, Algorhythm) and Germany-based beatboxer Chris (Neilon, Glänz) invite participants to discover the wide world of percussion possibilities in vocal groups. Workshop participants will discover how to start beatboxing and, from there, how to develop their unique musical identity. Dem-C and Chris will explain the role of percussionists in a vocal band and the layers of sound that they can fashion. In this session, people will create their own unique sounds, develop basic rhythms and techniques while exploring the possibilities of the human voice. In addition, participants will explore body percussion and how to use these sounds both to create, and to enhance, movement and music. All are welcome and no prior experience is necessary.
