The choral series “SAM-Klang” addresses three major challenges choirs face today: repertoire for choirs with a lack of lower voices, the financial burdens of large orchestral productions and the need for accessible choral works for developing voices. A versatile and accessible series, “SAM-Klang” editions can be combined with any existing orchestration published, and original versions. Expertly arranged by Morten Schuldt-Jensen, the collection includes works from the German, French, Italian, Scandinavian and British canon, with major works from Fauré, Mozart, Haydn, Brahms, Hensel, Menselssohn and Schubert. Jonathan Wikeley will present the challenges and gratifications of arranging for vocal accessibility, how arrangements are not meant to replace original works but to create a welcoming space for singers, and invites participants to try out and sing the “SAM-Klang” arrangements.
