Franco Prinsloo composes in various styles – from classical and contemporary choral music to pop and electronic works. In the workshop, he presents choral pieces from his musical “Naledi – An African Journey”. The extraordinary musical combines African folklore with the current cultural trends. In this fairytale about courage and magic, we hear different languages and mythologies from South Africa, such as Khoisan, Ndebele, Tswana, Venda, Swati, Xhosa, Tsonga, Sotho and Zulu, as they tell us about truth and renewal. Joining the Junger Kammerchor Lucente conducted by Inga Brüseke, the participants will sing pieces from the musical “Naledi” as well as from other contemporary compositions by Franco Prinsloo, and dip into South Africa’s magical world.
